Beautiful and romantic ”

This is a beautiful hotel in the Krabi province. The staff is very friendly, and the rooms are very spacious, clean, and nice. This is perfect for a romantic vacation. The hotel is also located within 5 minutes walking distance of the beach. It is probably about a 15 minute walk to get to where most of the other hotels and restaurants are located. Overall, we were pleased with our experience at the Timber House!

Enjoyed my stay immensely ”

we were a group of four in two separate rooms. From start to finish we had a great Experience at timber house. The pool is excellent and rooms absolutely huge! Our room was made up every day and we were given clean bath/pool towels daily. Water was also free! I couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough. They were also really accommodating and kept our luggage in storage when we went over to the islands! Overall great stay. The only negative aspect was lack of free wifi in the rooms. This could only be accessed at pool/dining area. ( wifi in rooms for an additional cost)

Good value at Timber House”

Imressed with the value relative to other places that we stayed in Ao Nang. Large rooms with inside and outside sitting areas. Good clean facilities, not always guaranteed in the price range. We stayed in a slightly higher cost place in central Ao Nang and moved to the Timber house after a walk past comparison. Staff were helpful. Plenty of nearby restaurants to test.

- we stay here from 16 feb 2013 - 21 feb 2013 - great breakfast everyday - great location - clean pool - The receptionist very friendly and very helpful - We rent safety deposit box, per day - The room is very big, our room is D107 - The view from our room really nice, in front of the pool - We didn't plan anything for our trip, just go to the receptionist and tell them what we want to do, they will help us to book it. even to rent bike, they will ask to deliver it to the hotel. - the hotel is 5 minutes from the Hat Noppharat Thara beach (to the right) and 10 minutes from Ao Nang beach (to the left) -Definitely will come here again

Nice hotel”

Having been to Krabi just two months back, stayed at Nagapura then, I wanted a hotel nearer to the beach front and chose Timber House, which probably saved 300m of walking distance from the main road by the beach front. The price is about 20% cheaper but the rooms are not as good. The only good thing is that it is nearer to Centre Point. But for those that wants better shopping, eatery and night live, then I recommend staying at the other end of the road where RCA is

Good value, location and friendly staff”

Timber house is in a great location- only 10 min walk to night market and main centre. Nice pool, great breakfast selection, big room and very helpful and friendly staff, who couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommend.

Spacious room”

The room was huge with a verandah area which was pleasant. Ao Nang is definitely not my favourite place in Thailand but the hotel is well located for boat rides and if you turn right when you exit the hotel you'll find some good beaches after about 500m (the ones before that are pretty dirty). Ao Nang itself is full of tourists and bars and pizza restaurants with little Thai influence. However get out of town and you'll have a great time with some really stunning scenery.

You pay what you get”

We stayed here for 13 days - we had a room in this hotel and did some travelling/living in other parts of Krabi. So in the end we spent 9 nights in this hotel and 3 nights in Railay + Phi Phi. In general the hotel is worn out, you can see this from condition of the building, reception, yard, pool area - in some parts reconstruction is really needed. However, hotel is in good location - central but out of the chaoss of Ao Nang. Our room had comfortable bed and all other necessary things are in here so can’t complain. Strange thing: you can’t use security lock box - they are asking ~80€ as a deposit which is complete nonsense. The room was cleaned everyday but from time to time they could clean ceilings, walls, balcony as well. To sum up, the stay was average but for the price that paid it was quite reasonable.

Overall quite cheap and nice”

Near to 7-11 and beach,10 to 15 mins walk to Ao Nang night market, lots of shops nearby, can find money changer and thai restaurant easily along the streets. The rooms are clean and tidy but the air-conditioner has a bit problem. Lots of puddle in front of rooms after raining. Staffs are friendly.

Not too bad, great location, quaint boutique hotel”

Fantastic location - between Noparatharat Beach and Ao Nang Beach. About 150 meters to right is the famous Wang Sai Restaurant. You'll also find a small street of hotels and shops. 150 meters to left is the well known Lae Lay grill. Right across the road from the hotel - there's a parking strip for about 10-15 mobile food carts. They're there most days of the week except friday nights. Staff was friendly and helpful. Cons: 1. no Wi-Fi in rooms!! only available at restaurant. 2. Hotel was eeriely quiet. In my 4 nights there, occupancy rate was only about 10%!! (out of 51 rooms, only about 5 were occupied at any one time)

Great Stay”

A very nice hotel. We will surely stay in this hotel again when we visit krabi ao nang again.

Spacious and Comfortable”

we stayed in a "two bedroom" unit and was very happy and would return if we were staying in the ao nang area in the future. only one gripe- i thought we booked a two bedroom unit but it turned out to be one bedroom, with the second, granted huge bed in the living area. stillit was very comfortable. matbe i didn't read the fine print!

good location and excellent bed”

I enjoyed my stay at Timber House. The only unfortunate part of my stay was the number of mosquitoes in my room. During my first two hours in the room, I killed about 30 of them. When I asked for a different room, the front desk staff said all the rooms have mosquitoes (not a great selling point.) Once I didn't have to worry about them, my stay was great. The hotel is very well located (a couple minutes walk and you're in the center of the restaurants and bars.) While there is no beach view, the hotel is directly across from the beach. Also, if you plan on booking tours, you're one of the last to be picked up and first to be dropped off, which is quite nice. The breakfast is tasty and varied (toast, cereal, yogurt, eggs, rice/vegetables/meat, pancakes, etc.), the pool is great, and the bed was the most comfortable I've slept on in all of Thailand. Overall, a good spot besides the mosquitoes.

Value for Money”

Very near to Ao Nang beach, hardly 5min walk, Central location very peaceful and calm place. Good swimming pool, food is ok but Lot of Indian restaurant nearby hotel.

Timber House”

We visited Krabi during the low season and had the place to ourselves. Timber House is located very near the Au Nang beach and to the strip of restaurants, bars and shopping area. Our room was spacious and clean. Very good value for the money. We would definately stay there again.

I like this location”

Rooms are really big with 2 balconies. I like the back balcony to dry things. Pretty good breakfast and wifi. Pools nice. I would stay here again as it's closer to more of the local eating places than the other side of Ao Nang beach. I was very happy here.

Spacious Rooms”

The room at Timber House are really spacious compared to other hotels we stayed in in Krabi. The rooms are clean but the furniture are outdated. The hotel rooms could do with a refurbishment. The room rates are value for money but forget about taking their breakfast, it's really bad. There are many roadside stalls opposite the hotel that serves very good and cheap local food. The pancake stall at the right end is a must try!

Decent hotel, value for money, good location just at the corner of Ao Nang beach - so away from all the busy-ness but easily walkable to the main area. We hardly stayed in the hotel as for each of the 3 days we had a day-trip booked. We had bfast at hotel and left for our tours. We were back at the hotel in the evenings from 4-5 PM; went out again for dinner and shopping; returned around 9PM for a night's sleep.

Good if you have kids only”

This a place who needs renovation,plumbing is going down,sewage piped broken rearside of building and smell goes inside some rooms.only 5 TV channels none American only Thai, and one RT in English w news.Pictures are from it's heyday...reception area falling apart,rooms are big but no too much power outlets,AC has one high speed only ...pool is shallow filled with kids,I saw one electric wire hanging from a light housing inside pool...can be a hasard if someone decided to put power on...pool shower is a joke. ..one is broken...internet inside rooms is another joke work good by the pool.garden view rooms are parking view and breakfast is a lot but only omelette is good,only Nescafé coffre, juices are diluted and food a little bland.A lot of Russians and east European s some French lost there and generally Ao Nang area is a nothing to do area cause no beach...just take the boat to another direction.

A more economical alternative to paradise”

A wonderful place to stay if you are looking for a more economical stay in Krabi. Frankly, when in Krabi, you wouldn't be staying around the hotel much - you'll be out at sea diving, snorkeling, etc. So with simply friendly staff who will accommodate your needs after a full day out is sufficient.
