This place has some potential but for this price I hoped the room would not smell completely humid and moldy. The beach is cleaned daily which is a huge +. In high season this place is probably better since there are constanly people in the rooms using the AC which dries the rooms.

Location is good, directly at the beach and close to the main road with restaurants, bars, cafes, supermarkets etc. Name is misleading though, this is not really a resort. It's more like a hotel with private bungalows, for a resort some amenities are missing. But still very nice! The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the dive shop on the premises is professional and well managed. The hotel restaurant sits directly at the beach and most dishes that we tried were delicious. Compared to restaurants in the main street it is quite expensive, but this comes with the location and atmosphere. Come here for some quiet days on the beach!

Nice place, lovely bungalow, very clean. Very friendly and nice staff. Should stay here for two nights, booked two more. Had dinner here for the last two nights, which was good and spicy. Normal prices for food and drinks. Staff cleaned the beach as a lot of rubish was washed ashore. Nice sea.

Amazing stay! ”

We LOVED our time at Lanta Castaway. The staff works so hard and are always available to help with booking travel, renting motorbikes, food/drinks, etc. we wish we had stayed longer. The room has great A/C and was the comfiest bed I've had in Thailand. The staff cleans up the beach each afternoon, which isn't the case at all the hotels in the low season. We highly recommend staying here and will be back!

Probably the nicest place on Long Beach”

Castaway is a very clean and nice place to stay. Compared to other places at Koh Lanta. The staff is very friendly, helpful and speaks as good english as thais normally does. There are also american staff on site. The beach is very good and clean. Food and drinks are really good at the hotel restaurant. Thai and american texmex.

Clean and functional, great beach location”

We had a fun time at Castaway. Beach access was excellent and we enjoyed renting a motorbike to explore the island. Staff are friendly and very relaxed. The groundskeepers keep the gardens looking very beautiful and maintained, and always smiled as we walked by. Breakfast was pretty disappointing: small servings priced very high compared to more inspired and delicious food available at surrounding restaurants. We also found better massages at a place just up the road called Ann Massage. Overall I think Castaway is clean and reliable with friendly staff and a great location.

Pleasant and relaxing! ”

Good. Large rocks on the beach and in the sea was annoying. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The food was poor in quality and choice. The cocktails at the bar were lovely. Overall the trip was ruined by the weather. It rained non stop the whole time we were there and unfortunately not much else to do on the island but to lay on the beach and swim in the sea. Overall this ruined our trip away....................................

I really enjoyed my time here was really nice to wach the sunset everynight at the bar with a cocktail. food was excellent, but so was everywere we ate in koh lanta. You really need a motorbike to fully enjoy koh lanta, get a motorbike from down the road though as it much cheaper than the hotel charge. i would recomend staying here but maybe in the better season when the beach has less rubish on. Im told the beach is nicer in high season too but i still enjoyed it during green season and it only rained a couple of times

RELAXING AND VEY ENJOYABLE”

IT WAS GREAT. COULD NOT FAULT ANYTHING. THERE WAS A SEVEN ELEVEN CLOSE BY. ALSO A COFFEE SHOP WHICH MADE GREAT SMOOTHIES. I'VE NEVER USED A MOTORBIKE AND THE ROADS WERE QUIET. GOOD WAY OF GETTING ROUND THE ISLAND.

My family booked 2 rooms at this hotel, one Garden Bungalow (that I stayed in) and one Tropical Daze room that the rest of my group stayed in. I was very impressed with both rooms, the bungalow has a comfortable bed with a mosquito net and a couple of fans, your own veranda that is well sheltered with plants and glass doors around the front and side of the hut that can be opened up. The Tropical Daze room is more of a traditional western style room with a tv, fridge and air-conditioning. The wifi signal is strong throughout the grounds and the restaurant is very nice. My brother left a ring behind in the bathroom of his room and the staff mailed it to our hotel in Phuket before we left Thailand which we were very impressed with. I loved the location and wished we could have stayed longer, I highly recommend this hotel.

Great stay in perfect location”

I had a great stay at Lanta Castaway - I was in one of the air-conditioned Garden Bungalows and my family were in one of the smaller rooms with just a fan, but both were very clean and well-maintained. The food was excellent - a little more expensive than many Thai restaurants but they had a great international menu that included delicious Mexican food, a rare find in Thailand. The staff were also very attentive, booking us a bus trip back to Phuket that was far cheaper than what we'd paid to get there. Also, I left my engagement ring in my room and didn't realise until my return to Phuket - when I rang Lanta Castaway, they endeavored to find my ring and post it express to my hotel in Phuket. I was very impressed with the service.

Really good place”

Really good place, right next to the beach. This a hotel for couples or families not for solo travellers. I can't say anything wrong about the hotel but I just want to warn you that the isalnd is not so interesting. If you don't have too much time in Thailand pick an other island.

Doesn't worth it”

The room is close to the beach,but the beach is really dirty. We booked the see breeze bungalow, but there 's no breeze we can feel inside the room. The quilt is humid every day. The temperature of shower water is very low. At one night, when we use the hair drier and the boiler at the same time, the electricity went off. We were so surprised the electricity in the hotel is so weak.

Fantastic location”

Had a wonderful time at the Lanta Castaway Resort,from the minute we arrived till we checked out.The rooms are lovely and bright with a nice balcony to sit and relax on.The hotel is on a lovely stretch of beach with plenty of sunloungers,there is no pool but who cares there is a lovely warm sea.Breakfast is fairly good as you pick from the menu.

I stayed in the cheaper bungalows, which were at least as good as anything else of the same standard for a very nice price. The room was very much an unsealed bungalow, buy with the mosquito net it was fine. The resort is fantastic, and i really have nothing bad to say about it.
