Chose this hotel because of excellent review, price and location. If you missed the last hotel shuttle ( like us from Izu-Atagawa station then you can still walk to hotel (< 10 min and down hill) with luggage from hakkawa station though there are few stairs when exit the station. In addition, the outdoor seaside Hakkawa Onsen is right next to the hotel (free for hotel guests), plus the 40 min private onsen from hotel so you get to enjoy the best of onsen without additional cost. We booked the Japanese style sea view room without realizing there is no private bath (which my daughter insisted to have). After we requested to exchange to a room with private bath, they upgraded us to a two-room suite with private bath (it was lucky they still have room with bath). We did not see non-Japanese tourist in the hotel. Though the front desk receptionist knew little English, they have know problem communicating with out request. Highly recommended!

Very polite staff like a family, cozy stay, spatial room size and Wonderful ocean view. Private open onsen is very impressive experience. Traditional Japanese 料理, not get the top range, but still very good value for the cost. Strongly recommended!

Perfect!”
We stayed in a family room for 5 people with open bath. With complimentary drinks, fruits and snacks. Everything was perfect especially the open bath which facing the ocean. It’s an unforgettable experience to jump into the hot spring water during cold winter.

55年ぶり”
毎年家族旅行できていた北川温泉に55年ぶりにきました。当時の面影とはだいぶ違っていたけどロケーションは当時のままでした。 建物は老朽化していて階段が多く、老人には厳しいと感じました。お風呂は広くて温度も熱めで心地良かったです。これで海が見えれば最高です。

非常に皆さん親切な対応で満足度の高い滞在でした ディナー・朝食つきでしたが、いずれも質・量共に満足でした ディナーは天ぷら食べ放題 記念日など、事前にお伝えしておくとケーキもお願いできる模様？で、他のテーブルではくす玉を割ったりしていました また、他にも館内でいか焼きや縁日などのイベントもあり、台風の中の滞在で外出ができない中、十分に楽しめました 難点としては、館内のWifiのセキュリティがかかっていなかったり、SSIDが場所によって違ったりしていました また、設備も丁寧に清掃はされているものの、網戸が外れやすくなっていたり、エレベーターがない等、設備的な古さは人によっては懸念点かもしれません

久しぶりの家族旅行で利用させていただきました。到着してまずロビーで滞在中のイベントについて丁寧に説明がありました。イカや日本酒、湯上がりビールにところてん。窓を開けたら海はホント目の前！最高の宿でした。

評価が８後半と非常に高かったので決めました。 ただ、実際の施設は結構年季が入っており、ドアノブが取れかかっていたり、天井に広範囲のシミが有ったりと老朽化も目に付きます。 浴場は良かったですね、そこまでの広さは無いもののゆったり出来ました。 一番困ったのは洗面所の蛇口から温泉しか出ないこと。知らずにお茶を淹れたら妙な味、コーヒーを淹れても不味いしで困惑しました。 ※洗面所に小さな案内が有ったのは後で気付きました せめて部屋に水のペットボトル２Lの１本くらいはサービスしておいても良いかと思いますね。 料理は夜の揚げたての天ぷら、朝は炙りなおしの干物、これは美味しかったです。 波打ち際の宿なので朝はその音で目が覚めました。 久しく泊まりの旅行に行っていなかったので、次はもっと吟味して宿探しをしようと思いました。 評価8以上は個人的には付けませんね、6.5～7が妥当かなと。
