Friendly staff pleasant stay ”

we stayed overnight at Unima before transiting to private island. The staff is very helpful and friendly - picked up us from airport and carried our luggage to speed boat the second day afternoon. Our room has been upgraded to seaview room as a surprise for our ten years anniversary. Breakfast variety can be better. Overall it is a pleasant stay. Male city has not much to see.

Five star top service and facilities”

We have enjoyed and relaxed the night we stayed in this wonderful Hotel. Everything has been Great. The arooms are very spacious, clean and well maintained. The Staffs have been always friendly and ready to help in your requirements. The Food was delicious with good varieties. The Breakasfast was very good compare to other Hotels in Male. The Hotel is located on an excellent location where you have easy acess to the Airport, city center and few meters from the Beach. You will definitely not find a better Hotel than this in whole Male for this price. Thanks alot for everything.

Ideal hotel for a pit stop ”

The hotel is located down a side road, but near to the ferries to the airport island. Attention to detail has been made on the room design and modern decor. Room was clean with free wifi. Mini bar, nice ensuite, quite a/c. Flat screen TV, nice mood lighting. Disappointing was that there was only a normal size double bed and a little hard for me. Each of the 9 accommodation floors has only 4 rooms. I did find the corridors a little noisy and echoey at night. Male is quite built up, so there was no view from the room. We arrived by ferry into Male from Fuilhidu and had arranged for a collection from the ferry terminal, but there was no courtesy transport with no mention or apology from the hotel. The breakfast was of a high standard with a good view of Male on the 10th floor. The view from the Sun terrace was fantastic. Overall, this hotel is ideal as a pit stop before your onward journey and was good value for money.

Good Choice to stay at Male City”

We arrive at night and staff already wait in front of arrival hall with a board named us. Very helpfull guys, he take care our transport to Male City and to our next destination. Room is superb...very clean, bed are tidy, breakfast at 10th floor, we can see airport and another island from here. Hotel about 5min walking from jetty. No doubt this is the best choice to stay at Male City.

Not Bad”

We arrived around 8pm. Therefore, stayed in Unima for the night. Hotel paid for ferry tickets from airport jetty to Male city. After that, we walked to the hotel. It is within walking distance. Probably 5 mins walk. 2 bottle of water around 300ml given. The breakfast was alright. I requested for scrambled eggs and there werent any. Bread and hotdogs were quite ok. When I use soap for cleaning my hands, the slipperiness does not go away. I suspect is the water in Maldives. It happens in Male city and in resort. Overall, I feel that the hotel stay was okay for a night.

Place for a tight sleep ”

Unima Grand is recommended when you have a long flight and need for a good rest and a tight sleep in the center of Male City but still not to far from the Beach... It was also quit close to public harbor...

Very good hotel, courteous staff”

Hotel is located within walking distance from most of the places worth visiting in Male city. Stay here if yo want to have a glimpse of Male city. Our room was upgraded and we got a room with Sea and city view. Breakfast buffet is excellent, I liked the coffee a lot. Staff was also very courteous they got us in touch with local adventure club for a full day excursion in the sea, it was fun. Overall our stay was pleasant.

Amazing hotel”

Only stayed for one night but the hotel was amazing. The staff were excellent and the food was amazing. Overall I would thoroughly recommend Unima Grand if visiting Male.

Value for money !”

We took a Super Deluxe with Ocean view and stayed 2 nights here. We could see the airport from our room. Breakfast had limited choices still fine though with cereals, pancakes/waffles, fried sausages, omelette etc. Complimentary mineral water and coffee. Toiletries provided except for toothbrush and paste. Location was good as it was near ferry terminal. Do explore the terrace(no lift access) for full city view. 10minutes walk to landmarks such as 350 yo Hukura Miskiy, Grand mosque which can occupy up to 25,000 worshippers on Friday prayers. Excellent hotel!”

Highly recommended for a short stay on Male island. Extremely friendly staff who picked us up from airport, clean and comfortable rooms, and great view on the top floor during the lovely breakfast buffet. Hotel is 2 minutes away from ferry terminal - convenient to transit to airport and surrounding islands. 5 minutes away from artificial beach and pier - amazing! As the hotel is only a few months old, there was still construction going on and the doors weren't sound-proof -- could have an extra security latch as well, just for a peace of mind! Other than that, so perfect! Will stay again if I have the chance.

Good choice to stay overnight in Male”

We stayed one night at Grand Unima Hotel. Providing round trip airport - hotel. We took lunch and dinner at 10th floor restaurant hotel. Taste is good. Price is reasonable. i would recommend Grand Unima Hotel as a your choice to stay overnight in Male.

Very good”

We stayed to this hotel before going back to Singapore. 1 night + 2 way airport transfer & breakfast included on the next day. Male City is the capital of Maldives & where all the local people or Maldivians live. We spent 2days & 1 night there just to see the local people & buy some souvenirs & local products. The hotel staffs are very friendly & helpful. They help us to give direction to the place that we can buy local items & souvenirs, they even print out the map for us. During our hunting for souvenirs we met one local guy, he was very kind & sweet, he was one of the owner of souvenirs shop in the area. He gave us big discount & all his items are very cheap compare to others. He gave us 1 photo album as a gift & he told us to put our Maldives photos on it. So sweet of u Uncle. Next time we visit, we will surely find & meet u again.

Perfect for a night in Male”

The Umina Grand is conveniently situated near the ferry pier for the airport. It has comfortable and clean rooms, helpful staff, and a very good (although quite limited) breakfast. There are great views from the rooftop terrace. Would definitely stay there again if I were to go back to Male.

we stayed 1 night at this hotel before taking a morning flight the next day. reception staffs are friendly, helpful but the airport transfer guy seems to have forgot to buy return ferry tickets, he just left us at the fetty. we had to buy own ferry tickets from Male to airport while we thot it was inclusive. a part from this, breakfast was good located at roof top bar overlooking at the Male skyline

Good for "Just-for-a-stay" ”

My 2nd time stayed due to close to jetty is convenient for my morning flight departure. Be specific, bed, pillow and air-cond are good. On cons : (1) room wifi, always auto logged out and i have to manually logged in again. (b) i have to arrange ferry myself fr airport to hotel (In Agoda, hotel stated "airport transfer included") as hotel told that no staff to pick up from airport after waiting for 30 mins. (3) hotel buffet breakfast choices are below par as Unima Grand claims at 4* hotel - too simple for foreigners every day the same : white breads, red bean, sausage, cut-cake, fruits, hard boiled egg, cereal, coffee/tea.

Nice place for transit stay”

We arrived in the late evening and was met by a hotel staff at Male Velana airport who arranged for our ferry tickets to the Hulhumale Jetty and helped us with our luggage. We boarded the ferry with the locals and were picked up by another staff at the jetty with an MPV. After negotiating some small winding roads, we pass through a big road with many potholes and construction ongoing. We were ushered into a small lane where the hotel entrance is located. We were promptly checked in and went to our room. The room was clean and modern with new light fittings and USB ports. The following day we had a good breakfast at the level 10 restaurant with a good view of the airport. There is a rooftop terrace as well with a good view of the surrounding. Upon check out, we waited a while for transport back to the airport where the representative from our next resort will pick us up. As the hotel car has gone out far, the hotel arranged a bell boy to taxi us to the jetty pier. Overall good service.

Very lovely staff and lovely food. I would not visit Malé again as I felt very unsafe as a solo female traveler which is always a shame and why I rated location as satisfactory, but I am so very happy that I had a peaceful and safe stay over night at the Unima Grand. Could not recommend highly enough.

New Hotel, Good facilities and stunning rooftop restaurant view”

Really new hotel with great room equipment amenities. Clean & effcient use of space. Restaurant at top floor has panoramic views of Male' Airport - nicer than expected! Also very near airport & hulhmale ferries.

Nice room, easy access to anything”

The location is very convenience, hotel located just 50 metre from the main road next to the sea. The room offer seaview and restaurant at the 10th floor overlook to the sea & airport. Breakfast not have much vatiety to offer and okay for a quick grab. Opporsite the road is a new build (under construction) national mosque and artificial beach... and only 400 metre the the airport ferry. There is an airport transfer provided by the hotel and it take only 10 mins to cross the bridge, at first we felt like a VIP when the car pick us up at the airport during the heavy rain :) while we wait for thr representative to be present after 15 mins. We actually dont mind to share the transport with another guests, however it is convenience! There is a shopping street which very convenience where you can walk hours along the street just 2-3 blocks away from the hotel, but you should go after 5 pm so all shops are opened. There are praying sound from the nearby mosque from times to times.
