Excellent, efficient, easy access to places”
VX the Fifty is run by a married couple who are highly professional who offer a personal service. They run a tight, very clean, comfortable rooms and efficient ship; the hostel is value for money, has all the facilities you need from laundry service with a rooftop breeze and kitchen facilities, computers and printing services, good security, communal private spaces for relaxing, or socialising or work spaces. Need to know where to go, how to get there or what to do in Bangkok? Whether you are here for a fleeting visit, making a one off stop or a frequent traveller into Bangkok, the staff have excellent local and travel knowledge and, If they don't know, they will go out of their way to find out on your behalf. I can highly recommend this hostel. It's far enough away from the touristy centre but easily accessible near the BTS and other amenities, in a safe and peaceful neighbourhood. Thank you for making my stay a really pleasant and enjoyable one VX the fifty. I look forward to my next visit!

Friendly Staff and Guests Great Location”
We enjoyed our stay at VX the Fifty! We stayed for almost 15 days over the course of 7 weeks and felt that the VX the Fifty was a great value. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and even though we had a late arrival around 1 AM, were able to check in. We had to leave some luggage beyond their 1-week left luggage policy, and they made an exception for us. Also, we met some very interesting travelers from a range of backgrounds. The location is very convenient; far enough away from the main tourist hub, but also accessible to everything via BRT.

Best hostel ever”
I gave 5 stars in every category except location and staff. I want to give those 5 stars as well, but need to be fair because 1) even though it's a 7 minute walk to the On Nut station, in the heat of the day it feels like hours. 2) some staff are so friendly and some are cold as ice... The inconsistency is disappointing because of how awesome this place is! Lastly, I gave food/dining 5 stars even though there isn't food in the hostel because right across the street for 40-60 baht you get the best food in Thailand. And they cook vegetarian! Some things that I am still so impressed by: 1) cleaning crew every morning and they are quiet and polite 2) laundry in the building! Self service and cheap! 3) beds are huge! 4) lockers are huge! 5) free coffee and tea and bananas 6) information everywhere! Seriously they have so many things posted to do and even better, how to get there and prices and times! 7) outdoor space to sit and read or smoke 8) QUIET- not noisy besides the street cars you hear sometimes 9) 7-11 is less than 1 minute walk away on same side of street Last thing to note is this isn't a party hostel... It's a place to feel safe and clean and even stay for a long period of time and in my option is under charging. Thanks VX! -female traveler (stayed in female dorm. Highly recommend)

Friendly, modern and great value”
My friend and I hadn't enjoyed our stay in a hostel in the old part of Bangkok, so we thought we would try to find a place in the new part of the city. We were lucky to come across this lovely hostel, conveniently located close to the BTS line. The interior of the hostel was clean and modern, the staff were friendly and very helpful. Food wise, the hostel was very relaxed about people bringing in outside food. There were bowls, plates and cutlery to use and plenty of table space to wine and dine on. Additionally, there are reasonably priced laundry services available and wifi is also very fast throughout the entire hostel. If you're ever hungry and looking for a cheap and nearby place to eat, look no further than Jai's restaurant across the road. You can get a hearty plate of food from 35 baht and upwards, and Jai used to work in a 5 star hotel in the city. Bargain.

great hostel!”
I have poured over hostels to stay in for my sisters and my trip to Bangkok. I am so happy that we chose this place because it is fantastic!this hostel is very safe with individual card keys and cameras on each floor to having to swip your room key at the front door after 6pm. The cleaning lady every morning at 10 who sweeps and mops!I walk on the dormitory female floor in my room and my feet are completely clean!something you wouldn't expect from a really inexpensive hostel. The beds are nice with a pillow and large blanket provided. Once again the cleaning lady removes the past customers sheets and puts a new set on so you dont have to worry about the cleanliness of well...anything!the room is also air conditioned between certain hours but seems to be a majority of the day.the showers are nice with multiple stalls. Good location not great because you do have to ride on the BTS for a while to get to major attractions.a whole trip going back and forth would be little over two dollars if you went to the farthest point. A tesco lotus nearby which is great for groceries and a night market! Right next door is delicious thai and Italian food for little over a dollar. I loved my stay and recommend it highly!

Great stay, friendly staff”
We stayed at VX for three nights and were extremely pleased. The staff was friendly and super helpful. There was a washer and dryer in the sitting area downstairs which was available for a small fee. The main receptionist was very helpful in getting us where we need to go. The location was central to most attractions especially with the BTS station (On Nut) around the corner. Overall, great value for a budget price.

Always end up back at VX”
VX is really nice. We loved being off the On Nut BTS stop because it's quiet and there is a really good nightly market with cheap food and clothes. VX has a fridge to keep food and is located by a Tesco so you can buy, store, and make your own food. Free coffee and tea, plenty of places to hang out, good wifi, washers with a spot on the roof to hang dry, and THE nicest staff. Ended up at the hospital for quite a while and they let us store our bags for 6 days with no trouble. Understanding and they care!

Very nice place indeed.”
The staff is friendly and helpful. The beauty about on nut is that everything is reasonably priced, especially massage. The parlours in the two sois on the other side of Sukhunvit offer a price which is approximately 50 baht lower than the ordinary bangkok price with exactly the same quality. And yet still it's on BTS! Pity I realized that too late and have already booked a hostel elsewhere. The staff are friendly and helpful. The house is a bit old. But good enough for me.

Exceptional”
Reasonable price for the amenities and services. Plus, the hostel is secure and the rooms are clean. The washroom however could be improved. The location is a bit far from the main attractions in Bangkok but it is a 10 min walk to BTS On Nut which is convenient enough. Overall, this hostel is recommended

Another pleasing stay”
Our second stay at the Fifty, though only overnight, went very smoothly. We came back because the hotel is easily reached from the BTS (about 700m from the On Nut station, though the intermediate sidewalks aren't great), because the staff are friendly, and because laundry machines are readily available (20 baht). A Tesco is conveniently located at On Nut and there's a 7-11 close by in either direction. Our room was basic (the bathroom was behind a curtain) but clean and had a safe. An international selection of guests can often be found hanging out in the kitchen, patio, and lobby.

Best hostel in thailand ”
I make it short. I stAyed one week. Cleanest hostel in 20 years. Owners involved every day, always give good advice and very nice. Small lobby area but dont need more in bangkok. Lots of return clients. I will be back if i need a place. Location perfect, no clubs around but easy access by train or bus, two major grocery stores within 1 km. No traffic noise inside double windows. Rooftop clothes hanging great, and pergola rotunda great on first floor. One nasty old woman the only problem guest i saw, she would not like a million dollars if you gave it to her, always one complaining buffalo. Breakfast was fruit and toast and jam. More than enough since lunch across the street is only 40 baht ($1.15 US) for huge plate of fried rice, fried noodles or pad thai. Lots of street food nearby and two 24 hr 7-11s within 1000 ft. Stay here, you will love it. Only reason not to stay here is if you need the prostitues and noise and bedbugs from the redlight downtown, haahaha.

Quiet hostel, out of the way ”
We stayed at this hostel on two different occasions in Bangkok. It is relatively new and quite clean. It is about a 10 minute walk from the On Nut BTS station. However, BTS service ends at midnight and we had a hard time finding a cab that would take us back to the hostel late at night (too far). Also, there is slim pickings for food near the hostel. On the flip side, you are in a quiet area away from all the craziness of Bangkok. We loved the flat rate, do it yourself laundry service. Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here if you don't mind walking a bit to the train station and going elsewhere to get food. Beware that the private room with a bathroom has a curtain for a door. Not too romantic if you are a couple...

Really worth the money!”
Great place any time I stay here. This was one of the best hostels in Bkk I ever stay. It’s not newly built but it’s full with generosity of the owners and their staffs. Compare to the money that we had to pay for. I think this was the most flexible hostel I ever stay. In single room, there is a table that I can work there as well. I think this hostel had more to offer (compare to the price) than any other hostels.

Highly Recommended”
Above all, the staff were amazing, accommodating and very friendly! The room was kitted out well, clean and tidy, and the environment in the hostel was relaxing and enjoyable. They even offer to keep luggage after the booking has ended when we we're heading for Phuket. We highly recommend this place, you'll feel like you are staying in one of the college dormitory again. It has a very good deal for money!

Perfect base for sightseeing”
This hostel is perfect for anybody spending a few days sightseeing here. The quality is of the same standard as a hotel. I stayed in a double room with shared bathroom. It had everything I needed or wanted: TV, a/c comfortable bed. The shared bathroom is kept exceptionally clean with an amazing hot shower! There is one bathroom available for the 3 rooms on that floor. The hostel has a kitchen area, free tea and coffee available and high-speed wi-fi on all floors. The only problem I had was that there was no elevator and I had a suitcase with me. Carrying that up to the 4th floor was difficult (I'm a girl, not so strong!) but that's only a minor issue, most people will be carrying backpacks anyway. If I was staying in Bangkok again, I'd stay here without a doubt!

Great, clean, a few BTS stops from more action”
This was such a great place that we extended our stay from 5 to 9 days. Nice staff, very clean room, cheap beer, nearby restaurants and 7-11s and food stalls, regular Thai neighborhood---several Skytrain stops from more touristy Sukhumvit area with malls. A Tesco center at the On Nut station, about 700m away, has a food court and grocery store, with a night market with beer garden on the other side of the station. Wifi generally good but can be spotty at night. Relaxing roof deck, lobby, and outside patio provided many areas to hang out. Cons: just a curtain separates the bathroom (which is also the shower). Only one key per room. Uneven sidewalks make it difficult to move around with luggage.
