We stayed 2 nights at the ryokan during the winter season in the Japanese style room with semi-open air bath (Honmaru wing). Although the size is stated as 15 square metres on agoda, it is definitely bigger than that! The room comes with a separate entrance area where the toilet is also located, then there is the dining cum sleeping room, a dresser, shower area, the semi-open bathtub, and a sitting area with side table, 2 chairs, a massage chair, and a view of lake Kawaguchiko. The ryokan provides pickup service from Kawaguchiko Station after 2pm. The staff spoke simple English so it was easy to arrange for the pickup. The minivan will take 10 minutes to arrive at bus-stop no. 10, which is on the right side when you exit the station. The meals we had here were fantastic and easily make up half the cost of the room so it's actually not that expensive as compared to other ryokans. To get a good view of Mount Fuji, be sure to head up to their observation deck at level 6!

Everything is wonderful”
We have booked the Japanese-style Room with Semi Open-air Bath. A bit pricey but it is worth! The location is far away from the station but the ryokan provides shuttle service from and to Kawakuchigo station. There is no convenience store nearby but the portion of meals are already more than enough for us. We had dinner in our room. The staffs are very nice and helpful. They can speak English well and they tried to explain everything to us. The dinner and breakfast are really delicious but we were too full to finish them all! The onsen is great too. The lake view from our room is peaceful. The Fuji Mt. view from the 5/F public bath is stunning. It was a bit cloudy but luckily we can still see Fuji san in the morning. We would definitely recommend this ryokan to everyone.

Best Ryokan ”
I love every detail in this Ryokan.. i love how they exploit the magnificent view of the lake oh their coffee house, and their breakfast room. I love the idea of how the dinning room is separate but still have a privacy. A little bit disappointed was only the wifi need to be re-connect every 1 hour. Besides the wifi, all was perfect.

wonderful and welcoming”
The staff was very pleasant and welcoming despite the language barrier. This was a wonderful place to relax and get away from the rush and crowds of tokyo and mt fuji. The food was quite delicious. The other guests were a little loud- the kids but other than that It was a lovely place. My favorite part was the view of fuji san!!!! Thank you for such a wonderful stay. My dad and uncle thoroughly enjoyed it.

Amazing ryokan, worth the expense”
Wonderful introduction to Japanese traditional culture. Relaxing atmosphere, super clean, patient and respectful of foreigners who don't know what to do in a traditional bath house, super accommodating & helpful staff, expensive but in hindsight, after 2 gourmet meals and the first class facilities, well worth it.

The perfect place to relax and enjoy onsen”
The place is vey clean and tidy with spacious room and comfortable onsen. The outdoor onsen is a must-try! We booked a room with a private onsen in the balcony but it turns out that it is just normal tube water so at the end we didn’t even try it. Maybe the description in the website could be a bit clearer. Staff are helpful and friendly. All in all a perfect experience despite the high price. Highly recommended!

The view from our room was completely breath taking overlooking Lake Kawaguchi. We booked the Japanese-style Room with Semi Open-air Bath, but we did not get the chance to use the bath. It was summer and there were many insects outside our room near the tub. We also saw cobwebs outside the window, the hotel should really consider cleaning! Staff were really friendly and helpful, there is a free shuttle service from the train station. We also enjoyed the huge spread of local food over breakfast and dinner.

Modern Ryokan with Beautiful Mt Fuji view on the Rooftop Terrace”
The hotel is not very close to the train station but they provide shuttle buses where you can pre-arrange with the hotel. It's also quite far from the major tourist spots but you can buy a Bus Day Pass to explore all over Kawaguchiko. Do note that these sightseeing buses have schedules and Maruei is served by the Green Line, where the last bus ends about 5.00pm. --- means to say that you can wait at the lake to watch sunset at Mt.Fuji 7 & take the last sightseeing bus, whereby most of them ends at Kawaguchiko Station, but it will be a 30 mins walk back to the hotel unless you don't mind taking Taxi. Other than that, the foods served are good, friendly staff as well as a wonderful Rooftop Terrace with a binocular telescope for you to zoom in Mt.Fuji and offers an unblock view of Mt.Fuji -- good for Sunrise photos.

Away from business areas, this hotel is not in a convenient location but near a park. The lake view of this hotel is probably the best along the lake. Fuji Mt can’t be view from the rooms but from the public bath. They provide shuttle service. Food is good.

Although the staffs cannot speak English very well, but they always try to help with their translation machine. The hotel's shuttle bus leaves at hourly intervals to the Kawaguchiko Station. There also has a public bus right in front of the hotel.

Pros: 1. Nice roof to see the Mount Fuji view - spectacular 2. Food is good, dinner served in private room and breakfast in a dining hall with good lake view 3. Nice service as they helped to pick up luggage from car at carpark which is opposite to the hotel 4. Spacious hotel, nice design, room size reasonable Cons: 1. Onsen not too impressive, and the "outdoor Onsen" isn't so outdoor as it's under a roof 2. A bit remote and no shop close-by 3. Price is a bit too high; should have better options with such price level all in all, no harm if you can afford the price as food and roof are two highlights you would justify the money spent.

Good but old”
not sure why its on top list of TripAdvisor, its a bit old hotel with average level of service in Japan. We were planning to arrive on 8pm but being told dinner service is only available before 7pm, no refund and no negotiation. And it takes over 2 days to get feedback from the hotel. Thanks to Agoda CS team, they are really helpful to chase the hotel. Eventually we had to cancel the appointment in Tokyo and come early. And due to the poor sound block of the room, we had to sleep with noises from the toilet pipes and neighbor's cheering. Besides of that, food and view of Fuji on top floor were great.
