Great hospitality from warm and kind people, spacious, well-maintained, clean room”

I visited this WelcomHotel Chennai on 9 April, 2019 and stayed for about 11 days. Although the exterior was not so attractive, the interior was beautiful and nice. Most of all, the happiest experience I had here was hospitality from warm and kind people. They have been truly nice and helpful to us. Their smile made us feel at home and comfortable. The superior room was large and spacious. Although it looked a little bit old, it was always clean and we felt that it is kept in good condition with usual maintenance being done twice a day. Air conditioning system was so good that I could not suffer from dryness or hotness. It worked silent and steadily to provide good ambiance. This hotel provided a number of bottled, sealed water per day and we could have as much of clean and good water as we needed. TV had so many channels but we could not enjoyed it very much because we've been busy looking around the city. All were so nice and memorable! Thanks to you all!!

Best place to live in Chennai”

Thanks to the entire staff at WelcomHotel Chennai. They made yet another stay memorable for me and my entire family. Special mention to Mr Homnath for arranging a fantastic F&B spread for my sons birthday party . Also to Mr Thameem the F&B manager and Mr Romel at the restaurant for always ensuring that all our needs were well taken care off. Great food, special service by all the staff and fantastic location!

Pro’s: Got a great deal from Agoda. Location proximity to central Chennai Lots of restaurants nearby Friendly staff Good breakfast Con’s Room was not ready on arrival, had to wait for an hour - but staff was accommodating in terms of late check out and options to freshen up. Hotel is little aged, probably time for a refresh. Reception has limited seating, waiting without a room standing in the reception after a long travel was an inconvenience. Food rates are very high, keep in mind of budget and you may be losing a lot of F&B revenue due to this.

This hotel is such great value for money. The beds are the most comfortable we slept in for the whole of our trip, the rooms are large and clean. All the staff are lovely and incredibly helpful. The food at the in-house restaurant is top-notch. It has a swimming pool and a bar. The whole family loved it - we will definitely stay again if we come back to Chennai.

A sweet spot in Chennai! ”

My husband and I found a new hideaway! We loved our quiet room, the kind staff, the food and the garden pool! Such a restful place-- they have Netflex ready to go- that was impressive! Hot baths, a great room and big bed-- so refreshing! Thank you ITC hotel for a great time.

Welcom Hotel Mylapore Stay ”

An excellent and favorite place for stay in Chennai. Courteous and caring staff. Nice breakfast. Of course this time, mattress in room allocated to me was not of the usual comfortable one. This was unusual. Otherwise, a great stay as usual.

A great stay in luxury ”

Three officers came as a team and stayed in ITC Welcome Hotel. The Duty Manager Ms Merly was very courteous and helpful. Keith from the restaurant & Prasad Reddy from Housekeeping deserve special mention in making our stay excellent. I would also like to compliment Duty Manager Kabir for his very helpful and courteous attitude.

Good hotel but not the best.”

I stayed here as a group of 4 in two 2 bedrooms. One of the rooms was upgraded from superior to the club, the club room was way bigger and spacious than the superior ones. The cost was comparatively lower to other five star hotels, but as this hotel is a bit antique, some of the features are not up to date compared to recent five-star hotels. The location is in a prime place, 3 km from Mylapore, Royapetta,h, and Nungambakkam.

Positives: The Staff. All departments. No complaints. Great service. Direct Discounts to In-House Guests, that is common sense approach & welcome!!! The Club Room: Spacious!!! Old World Design. Unique . Negatives: Breakfast Menu needs improvement in Sweet Breads & variation . The standards now within/in 4 Star++ Hospitality is very competitive in Chennai in the Cost Range being charged. The Club Room : Bathroom Area & Shower Cubicle: Serious Design re-think necessary!!! Either have a proper tub or a spacious Shower Area. The current *compromise* serves no one & actually is inconvenient to use even for an average height person.

I went to Chennai for a course. Left after breakfast and returned atabout 5pm. Ordered in house dining. Ideal hotel for a business traveller who needs a comfortable room and privacy. Hotel staff were very friendly and accomodating

Noise and crazy lift/elevator system ”

Booked 4 nights here, two rooms. Our second room turned out to be on a lower floor (even though we’d booked at the same time)and due to their lift/elevator set up it was impossible to get to each other’s room without going down to the lobby first and meeting the other person so that they could use their key card to access their floor with you. Whilst I can understand a system that stops non guests accessing rooms, this is all a bit crazy when all you want is to share a cuppa and chat. Our room was near the elevators and unfortunately for us there was a wedding on our first night. There were people quite literally yelling in the public corridors, chatting loudly by the lifts, kids running up the corridors and banging on room doors until the early hours. Eventually we had to get up and ask them to be quiet, it was bizarre, especially since hotel has cameras and not one staff member thought it wrong. Their saving grace is service. Staff are 5* in restaurant and bars.

A good stay in Chennai”

We had a comfortable stay here with a good breakfast spread. Easy to get to main shopping areas in Chennai. The swimming pool looked dirty and not properly maintained, went to swim but decided against after seeing it. Some good restaurants nearby for Chinese and North Indian.

Old World charm ! ”

Beautiful Hotel in a very central location. I was in the city to watch the India England test match and place was fairly close to the stadium. Being a Hotel built during the '70s there was no dearth of space at the time and therefore rooms are large-sized and its great value for money. The hotel also has a nicely stocked bar and a small outdoor pool (currently closed due to Covid restrictions). I loved the whole experience.

Nice staff, reasonable price, rooms of good size, bathroom is good but out dated. Location is good , easy access to nearby areas. Would be a 4 star hotel in other countries, but standards differ among countries. Would recommend
