Perfect stay in Phetchaburi ”

We really enjoyed our stay in the White Monkey Guesthouse. The personal was very friendly and recommended us a round trip to interesting spots around Phetchaburi since the National Park where we actually wanted to go was closed. Thanks to him we saw the best places in Phetchaburi. Both the room and the shared bathroom were very clean. We absolutely recommend the White Monkey guesthouse.

Best place to stay in Phetchaburi”

This was the second time that we stayed at White Monkey and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Phetchaburi. We had a comfortable spacious double room with ensuite bathroom and a lovely terrace across the hall. There is a nice garden or you can sit in front of the guesthouse and enjoy an evening drink. The guesthouse is new, clean and very well maintained and the staff go out of their way to help you. It is very centrally located but still in a peaceful side street. Wifi is working well and during our stay we were offered bicycles for two complimentary hours each day. The room rate includes a cooked breakfast. Highly recommended!

My stay at the "White Monkey Guesthouse"”

The only downside to my entire stay at the "White Monkey Guesthouse" was the fact that the staff spoke rather poor English. OK, maybe you can't really blame them for that. If I know that even as such, their English is infinitely better than my Thai, then it gives it a different perspective. But it sure would've helped if they spoke it a bit more. Then I would've been able to explain them that I am a vegetarian who doesn't eat ham and sausages which they routinely serve for breakfast. Apart from that, everything else was impeccable and this place would surely merit another visit if I ever came back to Phetchaburi.

Great Guesthouse”

Nice rooms and lots of assistance from the very helpful staff. We arrived very early on the overnight train from the deep south and our rooms were not ready, as we expected, but the staff let us leave our bags in reception and got us a tuk tuk to visit the cave and temples while we waited for our rooms to be made up. We always knew the costs of tuk tuks etc as the staff knew a fair price and negotiated with the drivers in advance. A big surprise was the free breakfast thrown in. Although basic, just eggs, toast and coffee it wasn't expected and helped set us up for the day. Phetchaburi was a pleasant surprise with many lovely temples nearby and I'd recommend as a detour. The superb Rabieng Rimnam restaurant is just at the end of the road from the White Monkey and I'd suggest you eat there as excellent food at great prices.

Exceptional”

I never expected that value for money could ever reach he 100%. Well, in my opinion the white monkey guesthouse is coming very near to the unreachable. The rooms are so clean and quite large....tv and frig (no minibar of course!!!) in dvery room. Bikes are free, motorcycles are for rent (250 thb p day). Breakfast is free....(selfservice and wash your own plates!) Enjoy the 'ling khaw' (white monkey)

Cute little place with great service! ”

White Monkey Guesthouse was a a very nice place with such friendly staff! They always tried their best to answer our questions and would go out of their way to do so. The rooms are really clean, AC works great, and the breakfast is enjoyable. Its about 5 minutes from the train station. We definitely recommend this place to others! You'll enjoy your stay!

Great Guesthouse”

I booked this place for my mother and her friend. Both their rooms were clean and comfortable. Big rooms, clean bathrooms, good aircon, a good fridge in the rooms and a good simple breakfast every morning. The staff were really friendly and its in a good loaction to walk to everything in Phetchaburi including the wonderful night market.

Best place to stay to see the 2 palaces in Phetchaburi”

I had a fan room and if you have been walking around a few hours, it will feel hot when you get back BUT after a shower, the room is fine as the building is new construction and the walls keep it relatively comfortable (if you are used to the climate) with just a fan. The shared bathrooms and common areas / kitchen as well are clean and the staff spoke basic English to answer questions. The place would be a bit of a hike from the train station. It cost me B50 for a tuk tuk / truck for a 5 minute ride back to the train station while an ordinary train all the way to BK only costs around B30. Breakfast is fine, toast, fruit, sausage, egg etc it must have came with the room price for the room I paid for. There is also water + tea/coffee available. Otherwise, there is one 7-11 that's maybe a 10 minute walk towards the Ban Pun Palace. Some reviewers complained about slow Internet, but it worked fine when I was there for normal surfing (pic/video upload could be slow though) as maybe b/c it was a Monday night and there were not many guests. The Rabieng Rimnum Guesthouse / Restaurant on the corner by the bridge has a restaurant overlooking the river with very fast Internet upload and an extensive menu albeit from eating there and from reviews, it seems they have a habit of messing up orders (maybe the English translation is not correct) or just giving you what they have and hoping you don't complain too much. Both Phra Nakhon Khiri / Khao Wang and Phra Ram Ratchaniwet (Ban Pun Palace) are walking distance (the latter is a bit further) - figure a couple of hours to cover the whole hilltop for the former while I went to the latter in the morning before checking out to catch a train back to BK.

Near many temples, central, clean”

I stayed one night at White Monkey Guesthouse, in a room with bathroom inside. It is located near many temples. It took me 10-15 minutes walking to reach the hostel from the train station. I think it is a recent hostel. Hot shower, fast, free wifi. Breakfast has toasts, cereals but you should try the congee too. To go to the historical park, better take a songthaew.

White Monkey welcome”

It may be a two star hotel but the staff and service are five star. The room was modern and impeccably clean. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks to everyone at White Monkey.

FANTASTIC GUESTHOUSE, FANTASTIC LOCATION”

The staff here were excellent; helpful, flexible and knowledgeable. The street (Soi) the Guesthouse is on has several historic dwellings which have informative Thai and English signs explaining the history of the location. The Soi on the other side of the river also has these signs, along with delightful murals on the walls of some of the houses. The Guesthouse is walking distance to everything! I stayed in room B1 which is a double room with an en-suite bathroom on the back of the Guesthouse so it was very quiet. Only one TV station had English (French 24). Petchaburi is quiet - not a lot of pubs and nightlife but go out at night and just walk. A peaceful old fashioned town.

Good place to relax”

The guesthouse is still new, has nice interior and you can find funny monkeys everywhere. Our room was big and clean with bathroom and even a balcony. Because of it's central location you can walk to most places in town. The staff is friendly and professional.

Grest place to stay in the centre of town”

For the price, the guesthouse is top notch, especially being in the centre of town and close to many sights . The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. Motorbikes/ cycles are on hand to hire for the day, which is really good.

A good choice once in Phatchaburi”

Once you decided to visit Phatchuburi, White Monkey Guesthouse is surely a very good choice. On the other hand, there are better places in Thailand than Pharchuburi to explore and visiting the 40 km distant National park is rather problematic - very vast area and distances even with a car. One day visiting Phatchuburi is worth, than better continue your trip to other places.

Cozy and modern stay”

Did not expect much for the price, and was very positively surprised! Spotless rooms and baths, cozy room in which I felt at home. Young and friendly staff which helped us with everything. Awesome cafe nearby (Pegoda). Close to all attractions. Free bike rental was a big plus! Strongly recommend!

Almost falling in love ”

We came here for a movie, found a friendly, comfortable hotel, environment and transportation is very convenient, the only criticism is that the room lock is bad, can not be closed, so that we do not have a sense of security, I am also sorry , Because that morning we need to take the morning train, so did not bid farewell to the boss, I am sorry

Amazing staff”

Even though we stayed in a fan room it stayed cold due to the modern windows. The shared bathrooms were great as well but tend to have a strange odour probably because of a certain type of cleaning remedies. What really makes this place extraordinary is the staff. It's lead by a couple who has this wonderful energy between them and they go out of their way to help in any way possible. At the same time they seem honest and sincere and doesn't try to pull anything off. Had they been located in a city more appropiate for us we would definitely have stayed much longer!

Exceptional”

The hotel is located on a beautiful street, with wonderful old teak buildings along the river, and temples nearby. There is also an excellent restaurant at the end of the street. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and the hotel was extremely comfortable and clean.
