Best hotel at great location ”

Over the years, we have stayed in top hotels on Sentosa and in Clark Quay, Tiong Bahru, Lavender, Marina Bay and St. Andrews. We decided to return to the Y@OneOrchard, an under-rated hotel stuck between the magnificent National Museum and SOTA (School of the Arts). Some fifteen minutes away on SMRT 6 or SMRT 106 which can be caught directly outside is the wonderful Botanic Gardens and the Singapore Orchid Garden. Dhoby Ghaut MRT (N-S Line) is barely 200 meters away. Our room was on Level 8 looking down on Orchard Road. It is immaculately cleanly with ensuite. On Level 9 is a relaxing area with a large swimming pool. The Y Cafe is on Level 4. Lovely buffet breakfast with satisfying variety. After almost a month of spicey stir-fried food, if was lovely to settle back and enjoy fresh salad, nice coffee and simple Western meals like the lovely fish and chips for dinner at the Y Cafe. The YMCA is a charity that does good deeds. The YMCA@OneOrchard is a peaceful retreat. Daily rate is half of many 4-starred hotels in Singapore. Highly recommended.

Free upgrade”

Unexpectedly received a free upgrade at the counter... Enjoyed the room thoroughly. No delay in room cleaning like in most places as we were staying two days. Room was clean and well kept unlike what was written in some reviews previously. Definitely will come back to stay! Thanks Ymca One Orchard!

Friendly and convenient”

Our stay at the YMCA@ One Orchard was quite lovely. The friendly staff is very helpful, and the convenient, central location close to MRT and bus stops, as well as the National Museum and Orchard Road, is unbeatable. We were also pleased to learn about the Y's many classes and activities that enrich the educational landscape and growth of Singapore.

Great location and clean”

YMCA is located at a great location with great access to mrt (dhoby ghaut), malls. Room is basic and clean and bright. Though facilities are old but well maintained and clean. Room even come with simple breakfast. Overall, value worth for money as accommodation in Singapore is fairly steep

Rate is slightly high but location is great!”

I found the rate I got slightly high, but maybe I'm paying for location as YMCA is conveniently situated on Orchard Road. We walked for only 5 minutes to get to a very good mall, Singapura Plaza. The MRT is just 2 minutes walk! The breakfast is filling. YMCA served pork, chicken and vegetable buns, chicken sausages, pork and beans, rice, cereals, salads, bread, fruits, and desserts. My only comment in the café is I called the attention of a worker for the coffee dripping on the floor. I told him someone might slip from it, and he just waved me off in an unfriendly manner saying don't worry about it. I observed further and he didn't clean it. People were stepping on it. Another worker mopped it after ten minutes. Our newly renovated room is clean. The architect who designed the room is smart because there is space to move about in the small room. There are no side tables but holes beside both sides of the bed is convenient enough to hold my book and my cell phone. It has an outlet beside it too and the light switch. The door to the bathroom is positioned diagonally so that going to the sink is more spacious and doesn't cramp the toilet area. In front of the ledge where I put my toiletries in the bathroom is the back rest of the toilet. I feel safe that my toiletries won't go in the toilet and get wet because the back rest serves as protection. I'm contented with the stay, and my husband and I were comfortable in the room. I just feel I didn't pay a budget price for a budget hostel.

The YMCAis value for money.It is centrally located with both the MRT n the bus stop at their door step.the staff guided us whenever we needed help.the breakfast is a buffet spread.luggage is stored for 2 sing dollars a day.You can eat all your meals in their cafeteria if u need to.we loved our stay n will recommend the YMCA to anyone visiting Singapore.

One of the best experiences staying around ORCHARD”

Somehow they upgraded my room to family room that would suited for 4 people. Its quite spacey with enough room to put luggages. The staffs are very friendly, helping from finding malls to taxi. The breakfast is just a standard breakfast but its a very good value with the hotel price. The location of the hotel is at the edge of ORCHARD but its a very good walking distance to the center of the road. Well at least it should be easily 3 1/2 stars!

Returning again ...”

Over the years we have returned here repeatedly despite having used other hotels in the area. We like its location surrounded by eaterys and great transportation. This time I was upgraded to a refurbished room on the 6th. Understand all rooms are gradually being updated. The younger staff at the front desk are eager to help and engaging. I prefer the rooms facing Fort Canning because they are quieter for better sleep. My towels were replaced daily by housekeeping and I have never expected extras. A suggestion is they need to address the ant problem. Though they're midget ants they're annoying. All edibles have to go into the refrigerator supplied. A working safe in the room is also appreciated. However these issues did not undercut my appreciation for the Y at 1 Orchard Road.

Small twin room feels like in Japan ”

Location is absolutely perfect! But the room itself 14m for twin room is like the one we got in Japan. Small enough. But as you are already in the Orchard road and for the price you paid including breakfast, no comment at all for it! 👍🏽 No slippers in room, pls consider it as we don’t know how clean the rug is.

a great hotel right in downtown”

3 days stay at YMCA for business gave me a good experience of how a good housekeeping is. Every thing is clean and neat! The hotel is 5 min walking from Dohby Ghaut station (exit A) which is very convienent to other parts of the island Breakfast is just acceptable to my standard for a 100usd/night Very impressed with the GM of the hotel

Top location, friendly and helpful staff ”

We were 2 couples travelling. YMCA gave us interconnecting rooms. The rooms were clean, functional and comfortable. The buffet breakfast varied every day. You couldn't find a better location, a short stroll from either Dhobi Ghaut or Bras Basah metro stations.

Good place to base yourself”

This place is nice and close to the action of Orchard Rd.Although quite pricey for the quality,I think that you have to remember that Singapore is generally quite an expensive place and with this hotel, you are really paying for the location rather than a swish experience. Rooms were clean, well air conditioned and bathroom was a good size. The best thing is that Dhoby Ghaut metro station is just across the road, makes getting around so easy. Metro system is quite easy to navigate. Although only here for one night, this place has everything we needed.

Overall it was a great deal, close to everything, food, Orchard Road, Dhoby Ghaut the biggest interchange for the MRT system, a personal safe in the room would have been reassuring, the staff friendly and helpful, including housekeeping

Great location”

It's very convenient for accessing to MRT and many malls/restaurant around, museum and a park are just next to hotel. However, YMCA has many events so time to time you can here dancing/jumping people above your room..

Staff friendly and faster check in and out Breakfast area not enough seating area due to volume of guests should have provide more tables and chairs but food is good . Location very near mrt, near orchard and raffles.. Rooms are clean huge compare to other 3 stars hotel I stayed before .

For a hostel situated on Orchard Road, it was worth staying in financially and very conveniently located near the Dhoby Ghaut MRT. The staff were helpful and friendly. There was also a variety of food to choose from during breakfast. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Everything you need”

Superb value. Location excellent, not in the thick of it but close to all you need e.g. The hop on hop off buses. The room was small but comfy. Staff fabulous. Breakfast was included in our deal and was substantial. The tv channels need looking at but apart from that I'd stay here every time.
