Very nice little quaint Ryokan”
This little ryokan is located at Hakone Machi which is the quieter jetty. My sister and I did the Hakone sightseeing loop before checking in. Once you walk out of the jetty, turn left and walk along the main road till you reach Hakone Hotel. Right opposite Hakone Hotel, there is a little lane with Yugiriso hotel's japanese name but no English name. Walk inwards and u'll get there in a min. Checking in was a breeze. I read reviews on the staff not being able to speak English at all so I was worried but the staff did speak English well and understood us. Even the room maid spoke a little English and she was so friendly. The hotel and room is really cosy. We felt very comfortable. There is an indoor and outdoor hot spring bath, cosy size too. Probably could fit 6-8ppl comfortably.

Great value for ryokan with kaiseki!”
Booked this ryokan due to the very reasonable and cheap price point. Plus location walkable to lake ashinoko- where it is possible to view Mount Fuji. Thank goodness we booked here- as we reached late in evening, therefore unable to view Mount Fuji. The next morning we walked to the nearby onshi hakone park- and had great views of Fuji. The ryokan was dated, but rooms were clean. Staff were helpful. Nice indoor and outdoor onsen. Nice yukata also provided upon arrival. In room kaiseki was delicious, with yummy breakfast next morning too. Only thing is after 5pm there were no shops still open, and only vending machine available was drinks, no snacks. Futon was very comfortable, with old style safe box available. Overall, great experience with relatively cheap price compared to other ryokan with kaiseki.

2 nights in Yugiriso”
I enjoyed relaxing in Yugiriso Ryokan. They provided all the basic necessities and all the staff members were polite and helpful. They provide yukata each day which is convenient when you want to use their onsen. Yugiriso is located very conveniently, many restaurants near by and the historical Tokaido check point is few minutes away by foot. You can also walk to Motohakone and Hakone shrine which only takes about 20min.

Fantastic Ryokan experience”
The staff we wonderful. We unfortunately encountered bad weather in Hakone which basically shut down transportation to the Owakudani peak for the day. We had nowhere else to go so we went to the ryokan early to dry off as it was very cold and raining heavily. We were able to sit and dry off in the lobby and they let us into our room a little early. The outside of lobby is lovely and picturesque. They have a men's and women's onsen on site. There is also a breakfast and supper options but we didn't partake. Highly recommend to stay as it is within walking distance to the Hakone shrine and Lake Ashi waterfront. Bus stops are nearby.

Cozy little hotel with very friendly staff”
some may think Hakone Machi is a bit far from the bigger stops, but Yugiriso is located near Ashi Lake at Hakone Machi-ko and we find it very strategic to start our route to visit Hakone. we can go up north to Yumoto by bus, and from there travel to Gora stop with bus, and then cable car to Sounzan and from there, we took ropeway to Owakudani, then ropeway to Togendai and finally pirate ship back to Hakone Machi, where Yugiriso Hotel is located. beautiful scenery, strategic location to take some photos of Fujiyama too. Not just that, the hotel is cozy and the staff are warm and friendly. we enjoy our stay very much. love the onsen and if we are going back to Hakone, we'll definitely choose Yugiriso again.

Great place to stay”
Nice and clean room. Excellant service. Hot tea was served in the room upon check-in and after dinner and breakfast. We enjoyed the in-room dining. The set-up for breakfast was very inteteresting.; tatami seating in a common dining room. They took care of every detail such that the moment you sit down they are ready to start serving. You must also try the onsen. Acess is rather easy. We took a bus to moto-hakone bus terminal then go to bus stop no. 6 at the corner of 7/11 just tell the driver Yugiriso. Its only 2 mins walk. It was snowing when we check'out and the surrounding garden was beautiful. GLLOW Singapore

Authentic and great location”
This is a really nice ryokan in the old style, but Western enough for non-Japanese. Its location is great; a very short walk from the ferry terminal on the Hakone circuit - there is a third party bag-delivery service from Hakone station that could be useful to others who go to this hotel - and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The manager has enough English to get non-Japanese speakers through the process and we very much enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic Ryokan, Wonderful onsen”
If you want to stay near Lake Ashi, this is a wonderful onsen ryokan with delightful staff and a beautiful, relaxing onsen. There's both an indoor onsen and an outdoor one that looks out on a small, private garden - a truly relaxing way to wind down after a day of hiking or enjoying Hakone. The rooms with private bath (the only ones I've stayed in here) are large, spotlessly clean, and have a refrigerator. I've stayed here twice now, and both times the experience was superb. I will return again, and highly recommend it. OK for non-Japanese-speakers too!

Best stay ever”
We stayed here for a night. The check-in time is 3pm but we arrived around 11am. The staff were very nice. They gave us a warm welcome, took care of our luggage, and suggested that we could travel around hakone before we came back to the ryokan at dinner time. When we came back in the evening, our belongings were already brought to our room. The kaiseki (traditional japanese dinner) and onsen was impressive. Thank you so much for a great experience <3

Nice stay, would recommend.”
The hotel is located at Hakone-Machi, which is a short walk from the Hakone-machi bus station/port. The staff were quite friendly, he deposited our luggage before check-in time and they helped us moved our luggage to our room when we got back. A very pleasant Japanese style room and has both indoor and outdoor onsen, which is very nice as the hotel itself is less crowded, most of the time you can occupy the whole onsen youself. Would recommend to get dinner as nearby restaurant all close at evening, can only get maggi mee cup if did not book dinner prior.

A really special experience”
Less than a minute's walk away from the Hakonemachi bus stop, a very warm and friendly welcome awaited us. Yugiriso was the perfect place to experience a ryokan (from the steaming onsen to the bizarre and exciting meals) and the beauty to be found around lake Ashinoko. We were even lucky enough to be able to glimpse Mt Fuji's peak on the day we checked out. Would love to stay again. Thanks very much!

Lovely ryokan, yummy food”
The ryokan was quite conveniently located, just 2 mins walk from the bus stop (take the bus near 7-11 opposite the port and tell the driver Yugiriso). The onsen was awesome and with both indoor and outdoor public onsen. There even is a private indoor, enough for a couple or small family. The kaiseki dinner was very scrumptious with more than enough to eat.

Everything is great.”
The hotel is very closed to the Hakone Machi pier and the bus stop, so it is convenient to travel from/to there. The staff really gives good service. There are both indoor and outdoor onsens separated as male and female. The breakfast is a big set and is worth paying for. One thing to keep in mind is that the hotel name sign infront is Japanese only. The good way the make sure you arrive the right hotel is to prepare Japanese name of the hotel and compare it with the sign infront of the hotel. All in all, I like this hotel and will recommend it to my friends.

Experience Japan”
It was a great experience staying at this japanese traditional themed hotel! The environment is amazing. It's a great getaway from all the crowd and busyness. The staffs were so polite and helpful;)! And it's a great start for travellers to explore hakone. Perfect itinerary. The hotel is not as hard to locate even though it is located quite far away from the main station. Just ask around and you will do fine. And there's a English signboard now;)

Close to Lake Ashi”
Staff were very friendly and accommodating, even with limited English. Both indoor and outdoor onsen were available. Dinner was very delicious and served in room. Breakfast was served in a dining hall. The hotel is not too hard to get to, but since it is southeast of the lake, it is easier if you were doing the Hakone "Freepass" route over 2 days and stay one night near the lake.

Wonderful hot spring inn stay”
My stay in Yugiriso is wonderful, at first I was a bit worry that this inn is hided behind other buildings, but when I enter into the lobby and welcomed by the staff, my impression has completely changed, they are great!! The staff explains everything clear and into details, and the room sure brings you the feel of the nice and good taste of Japanese inn. Cuisine serve from the inn is my trip's most enjoyable thing I have. I enjoy their hot spring and it's available to the guest for almost the whole day!!. I would recommend my friends and other to stay in this inn if they would like to enjoy hot spring in Japan.

Highly recommended ”
Location :It is very easy to find the hotel ,about 5 min walk from the bus (H for Hakone free pass holder) terminal(Hakoneguchi Interchange). It is also near the Harbour to Pirate Ship, hence, the lake view was wonderful! Staffs were very polite. Facilities: there are one bigger public SPA & a smell private spa . Overall it was quite clean except there was musty from blanket.

Wonderful experience ”
I was pleasantly suprised upon arrival after reading previous reviews. The place was so easy to find! We simply took the boat (apart of the Hakone freepass) which stops across the road from the accomodation. The place is certainly old and dated, but if you want to try a Ryokan for the first time, you will enjoy. Its a little weird walking through the corridors to the room, but on arrival the room is clean and presented nicely. The lady who looked after us did a wonderful job, despite having no english. The dinner is huge!! It wad a unique experience! There is no wifi in the rooms and japanese tv only! Staff were helpful - would reccomend!
